This is a set of four Thur-Op-Seat Dining Chairs, designed by Elmar Flototto for Pagholz in West Germany in 1967. The listed price includes the set of four chairs as shown. The shell seats are made from "Pagwood", compacted plywood soaked in phenolic resin. The resin lends the strength of plastic to the seat while preserving the beauty of the wood. The grain of the wood is evident through the finish. The backrests are quite stable and are extremely resistant to breakage. The bases have five points, and are made of black powder-coated molded steel.
Each chair measures 17.75 inches long, 17.74 inches wide, and 32 inches high. They have a seat height of 18 inches. There are some blemishes on the seats, and one has a cloudy coating on its surface. There are some small white spots on the back as well. Overall, these chairs are in good condition. Please see photos.
