Overview The SCap Supercapacitor UPS Board is a compact 5V backup power module built around dual supercapacitors to provide a short, stable buffer during power interruptions. It is designed to help embedded systems avoid abrupt shutdowns by offering hold-up time for tasks like data saving and controlled power-off. With a wide 5V-24V input range, the board fits many power environments and supports multiple input connectors: USB Type-C, DC barrel jack, and 2-pin screw terminal. The output is regulated at 5V, and you can power different loads using USB Type-A, 2-pin screw terminal, or 2-pin header outputs—useful for SBCs and peripheral devices. When external power is connected and the supercapacitors are fully charged, the board can provide up to 5V/5A peak output. If external power is removed, the charged capacitors can supply a stable 5V/3A backup output. Depending on capacitor charge level and load current, the module can offer approximately 15-110 seconds of hold-up time, providing a practical buffer to reduce the risk of corrupted data or sudden power loss. For safer integration, it includes input reverse-polarity protection and output short-circuit protection. Clear status indication is provided by onboard LEDs: input power indicator, output indicator, and supercapacitor voltage indicators.
