The Heritage Tweed Hat was crafted in the USA using woolen donegal tweed, sourced directly from a 150 yr-old, 5th generation handwoven tweed mill in County Donegal, Ireland, and finished with Horween leather trim and antique brass hardware.
We chose this particular tweed for its diverse and colorful flecking, a signature of quality donegal fabric. Historically, this hardwearing fabric was handwoven across County Donegal, Ireland, by part-time fishermen and farmers as the perfect fabric for dissipating the damp and cold weather of Northwest Ireland. Woolen tweeds were the original "performance fabric", and remain true to that durable, yet elegant, utility today.
The fabric itself is mid-weight and unstructured, and great for year-round wear.
